"You have Cancer".

Three words that you don't think YOU will ever hear but when you do...they change the rest of your life.

Three days before I sent my baby to college , I heard those words. I am a lucky one, they caught it early and I had a wonderful team to get me back to "normal". Ironically cancer has given me many gifts, one being asked to join a breast cancer survivor dragon boat team, "Hope A Float " in Philadelphia which I have been a member of since 2017. Being a part of that team, I have met amazing people who are my greatest inspiration and they have given me an entirely different perspective  towards life. Each day is a gift , live it full, find joy,  know some one is always struggling harder then you and no matter what direction you're paddling, my team will always have my back.

After joining The Cancer Support Community of the Lehigh Valley,(another gift from cancer),  I shared my story with my hero Amanda Buss who was quick to bring Dragon boating to the Lehigh Valley for one of her fund raisers. Over the last several years 5 of my neighbors have been diagnosed with cancer so I decided to put together a team for this wonderful event  to show cancer how strong we are. Together we can do more.
